Ranger Records Top Ten in Edmonton‏

@NASCARHomeTrack • Wetaskiwin, AB (July 12, 2015)- Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team were excited to return to Edmonton International Raceway after claiming victory during the inaugural NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at the track one year ago.  While they weren't able to record another victory the team captured a top-ten result and collected significant championship points.

Following the afternoon practice sessions Ranger felt very confident with the performance of the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge.

"Right from the start of the day the car felt very good" he stated.  "We were fast right away."

Ranger posted the seventh quickest qualifying time and would begin the 300-lap feature event in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge on the inside of row four.  Being on the inside lane would prove to be vital later in the evening.

Through the first half of the race Ranger moved forward and ran as high as second position in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge.

"The car was a little bit tight in the first half of the race so I just tried to patient" said the driver.

At the midpoint of the race a competition caution allowed the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team to make adjustments and put on fresh tires.  When the racing resumed Ranger was again on the charge looking to move forward.  A series of caution periods slowed the field and Ranger always seemed to restart in the outside line.

"I always seem to restart fourth or sixth and on the outside you just couldn't do anything," said a frustrated driver afterwards.

Despite the tough luck with on track positioning Ranger still managed to push the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge to a sixth place finish.

"I think we had a faster car than we were able to show because of the restarts," said Ranger.  "The whole Mopar Motorsports team worked very hard and gave us this good race car and now it's on to Saskatoon so we can win one of these races."

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team return to action this coming Wednesday July 15 at Auto Clearing Speedway in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Broadcast Info:  Fans can watch all the action from round five at Edmonton International Raceway Saturday July 18th at 2:30PM ET on TSN and Friday July 31st at 8PM ET on RDS2.
