@DelawareSpdway • (July 15, 2015)- While running in the third spot at Delaware Speedway, A.J. Emms was spun of contention, resulting in DNF for the Orillia-based ADAMS Motorsports team.
Emms started off the night on a solid note, finishing second in his first heat and fifth in his second heat. As a result of his qualifying effort, he would start second in the 25-lap feature that night. Emms would keep himself in the second spot till the first caution at lap two.
On the restart, he tried to get by Gary McLean for the lead, but was unable to, falling back to third after being passed by Justin Demelo. Once Demelo had passed McLean for the lead, Emms went back to work at trying to get by McLean for the position. He was unable to, though, remaining third all the way till the second caution at lap 12 for a spin by Duane Cinnamon.
On the restart, Emms would look to get by McLean once again, but was unable to. Instead, fellow competitor Ryan Dick would make contact with Emms' left rear, resulting in a spin by Emms. Emms would keep off of the wall, but required a toe off of the track as he couldn't get it restarted. Emms commented post-race that it was a result of the car getting stuck in gear with the spin.
