Jordan Latimer Rides Sunset Speedway Wall‏

@Sunset_Speedway • INNISFIL, ON (August 3, 2015) - During the second feature, Jordan Latimer would do something that hasn't been done at Sunset Speedway in a long time – he rode the backstretch wall. The teenager was unphazed, though, still posting a pair of solid runs on Saturday night.

Latimer would post a 15.050 second lap time in time trials to start the first 35-lap feature from the ninth spot. He would drop back to the 13th in the early laps, but battled back during the second half, battling side-by-side with Gord Shepherd for ninth with five laps to go. He was able to get the spot, scoring his fifth top-10 of the 2015 season.

As a result of finishing ninth in the first feature, he would start sixth in the second feature. It would start off with a dramatic start as on lap two, Marcus Keeler didn't realize Latimer was to his outside, and pushed Latimer up against the backstretch wall, causing Latimer to get all the way up on the wall before coming down. He would continue on, battling for position, with a pair of drivers going for a spin behind him.

The officials would throw the red flag, sending the paramedics over to make sure he was okay. Once the race resumed, the speedway officials made the decision to put Latimer at the back of the field for the restart despite driving away without incident.

Restarting at the back, he began to work his way back through the field, battling for 16th with Jason Witty at lap 12. He was able to get the spot, moving up to 14th before the caution flew with 10 laps to go. In the final 10 laps, he was able to grab one more spot, finishing 13th in the feature.
