@Sunset_Speedway • INNISFIL, Ontario (August 12, 2015)- On Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Jordan Latimer started off the night strong with a top-five finish in the first 35-lap feature, but came up short in the second feature as he blew the motor.
Latimer started off the night by posting a 15.085 second lap in time trials to set him up to start 11th for the first feature. He would drop back to 12th in the first couple of laps, but then began his climb, moving into ninth at the third caution at lap 14. Running solidly in the top-10 through the middle portion, he was able to avoid trouble ahead of him to move into sixth with five laps to go.
On the final restart, Latimer would get by Nick Goetz for fifth to score his second top-five finish of the season.
Latimer would start 10th in the second feature on the evening, beginning to move his way through traffic in the early going. He would loo to get around Brittney Gresel to move up to seventh, however as he looked to make the pass, Gresel would get loose. The result would be contact between Gresel and Latimer, with Latimer getting into the outside turn four wall for the first caution at lap four. He would head down pit road to the attention of the team, receiving repairs before returning to the track.
Restarting at the back of the field, he would avoid a wreck near the back half of the field to move up some positions on the restart. He was then able to avoid the ensuing cautions that followed, as well, to continue steadily moving up through the field. With continuing to avoid the incidents, he would run 15th with 13 laps to go.
His return to the front would end shortly thereafter, though, as with 10 laps to go, the motor would let go through turns three and four. As a result, Latimer would be done for the evening.
