@RWalt31 • @PtbpSpeedway • PETERBOROUGH, ON (August 26, 2015)- On Saturday night, Rick Walt scored his second straight victory in a row at Peterborough Speedway, scoring the victory in the Chase for the Colors feature.
Starting near the front of the field, Walt took the lead and didn't look back as he led the rest of the way to the checkered flag.
"The car was really good," Walt commented. "We won last Saturday, and this weekend, my brother showed up and wanted to change the car a little bit and I didn't want to. With some convincing, we changed it and it was a lot better at the end. We had some conversations about the front geometry and they changed it, and it made a huge difference."
The victory marks an important accomplishment on the season as Walt will now go to Ontario's biggest event of the year, the Autumn Colors Classic, with the pole for the 75-lap feature.
"It's huge for us," Walt expressed. "I know a lot of cars from Sunset are going to be the guys that we have to run against. We were running against up until a couple weeks ago when we decided to change tracks, and the guys here are gonna be the ones to beat. Yes, we win out there but they don't know what we have. They know we're fast, but they don't know our lap times. We're working on lap times, not beating those guys out there, and we're really fast right now."
With 19 features in the books this season across two different tracks, Walt has scored eight top-fives and 10 top-10 finishes.
