@NewHumberstone • PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO... Gary Lindberg from Ridgeway, Ontario picked up his second win of the season in the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman on Pinty's Night at the New Humberstone Speedway.
Dennis Lunger Jr from Albion, Pennsylvania won his fourth Pinty's Delicious Foods RUSH Late Model feature of the season. Port Robinson, Ontario pilot Bill Bleich Jr won his first JC Auto Street Stock main event. Rob Goulding from Port Colborne, Ontario won his third Cosco Haulage Mini Stock feature of the 2015 season. Mike Toovey won his fourth Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Truck feature of the season.
Adam Leslie and Gary Lindberg led the field of PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman to the green flag with Lindberg taking the lead on the opening circuit. Lindberg would pull away from Leslie, Brad Rouse, Matt Farnham and Cody McPherson. The leaders would hit lap traffic by the halfway point. Rouse and Leslie battled for second for several circuits while dicing their way through lap traffic. Austin Wood would bring out the caution after suffering a flat left front tire on lap 20. The restart would Lindberg out front with Brad Rouse taking over second from Leslie. Lindberg would pull away from Rouse to pick up the win, his second of the season.
Sam Pennacchio and Jorden Peters were on the front row for the Pinty's Delicious Foods RUSH Late Models main event and it was Peters showing the way early on. After Sam Pennachio's spin in turn two bringing out the races first caution, Peters would pull away from Lunger with Darren Peters and Rob Pietz racing inside the top four. Peters and Lunger would battle for the lead with Lunger taking over the lead on lap 12. Lunger would then pull away from Peters to pick up his fourth win of the season.
Kevin Knapp and Dave Bitner shared the front row for the JC Auto Street Stocks feature event and it was Knapp showing the way early. Jason Fontaine would take the lead away from Knapp in turns one and two on the races second lap. Bill Bleich Jr would take the lead on lap five from Fontaine. Vince Fargnoli spun in turn four to bring out the first caution on lap seven. Bleich, Fontaine and Knapp would battle for the lead. Dave Bitner looped his racer in turn four to bring out the caution on lap 14. The restart would see Bleich up front with Fontaine, Knapp and Jim Lampman battling for second. The caution would fly one more time as Dave Small, Mike Greene and Vince Fargnoli came together on the front straightaway. The one lap shootout would see Bliech hold off Knapp and Fontaine to pick up his first win of the season.
Kyle Rothwell and Brandon Iudiciani were on the front row for the Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks main event with the front row trading the lead back in forth throughout the first few circuits. Rob Goulding worked his way into the top three and then went after Iudiciani for the lead. Goulding and Iudiciani would trade the lead for several laps as well as the Mini Stocks would put on a great race. A late race restart would see Goulding take the lead away from Iudiciani with Jason Coutu running in third. Goulding would hold off Coutu and Iudiciani for his third win of the season.
Dillon Llord and Craig Vlasic led the field of Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks to the green flag with Mike Toovey going three wide to take the lead on the opening circuit. Toovey would pull away from Danny Wurster and Andy Imbeault. Jamie Ayers spun in turn two bringing out the first caution on lap nine. The restart would see Toovey pull away from the field and drove on to his fourth win and fourth in a row in 2015.
PORT NOTES: Speedway management would like to thank all the drivers that stayed for the autograph session at the conclusion of the racing program. A second autograph session will be scheduled for next Sunday night during intermission. The Go Nuclear Late Model Tour will be rescheduled for Sunday August 23rd. Car Count Report: 17 Sportsman, 10 Late Models, 16 Street Stocks, eleven Mini Stocks and eight Pro 4 Trucks for a total of 62 cars pitside The entire racing program was ran off in an hour and forty minutes as weather was moving into the area.
Super Mario's Pizza will present the racing action next Sunday night, June 14th as the Vintage Cars will make their second appearance of the season. A full card of Sportsman, Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Pro 4 Trucks will also be on the card. Also next week, there will be an autograph session on the track during intermission. Gates will swing open at 4:30pm with racing starting at 6:30pm sharp.
