@Riverside_NS • @ProStockTour • Antigonish, NS (September 9, 2015)- It is hard to believe we're ready to wrap up another season this Saturday (September 12) with the Lucas Oil 150, round 11 of 12 on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Also on the race card will be the Highland Home Building Centres 75, the second-last event of the year for the Napa Sportsman Series.
Championship Chases Winding Down
The championship points race is tight in both series with Antigonish's own Donald Chisholm holding a slim four-point advantage over Truro's Dylan Blenkhorn in the pro stock standings. PEI's Darren MacKinnon is only five markers behind Blenkorn, and Cole Butcher from Porter's Lake, four points behind MacKinnon. In all, only 13 points separate the top four in the standings; none of them have ever won a pro stock title so Saturday's race at Riverside will be critical in the chase for the championship. Several other contenders are still in the running, too, and every spot counts in the final standings.
In the sportsman series it's Sydney's Kyle Reid leading Main-A-Dieu's Darren Price by just two markers in the series standings. Sydney's Shawn Waterfield trails Price by 31 markers in third, and Joey Rudderham, from Marion Bridge, is fourth - just 18 behind Waterfield. Just as in the pro stock tour, winning the title would be a first for each of the top four sportsman contenders.
Hear Ye, Hear Ye - 5 O'Clock Start
We're a week later running the Lucas Oil 150 this year than usual so, in order to accomodate a show with 225 feature laps, cooler evenings and an earlier dusk, will start at 5 p.m. We've heard from many of our fans already with a thumbs up for this move, especially those who may be travelling from the Halifax area, New Brunswick, or Prince Edward Island.
Advance reserved and general admission tickets are available until Friday by visiting our website or calling 902-863-2410.
General admission tickets will be available Saturday at the track starting at 1 p.m. Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials (for pro stock) are at 4:10 p.m. There is plenty of free, unreserved, camping available.
See you there!
