@lance_stroll • @PREMAPowerteam • @fiaf3europe • (November 3, 2015)- Lance Stroll is targeting the 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship title after signing for the multi-title winning Prema Powerteam.
The Canadian, who only celebrated his 17th birthday last week (29 Oct), achieved his personal goal of finishing an impressive fifth in the overall Euro F3 Series classification and winning a race outright in his maiden F3 season this year.
The talented Geneva-based teenager who makes his debut in the Macau F3 Grand Prix in a SJM Theodore Racing by Prema entered Dallara F312 Mercedes later this month (19-22 Nov), will be driving for the Italian squad for the third consecutive year in 2016. Stroll won the 2014 Italian Formula 4 Championship with the René Rosin led Prema team – Lance's first year in car racing after a highly-successful six-year karting career in North America and Europe.
Stroll achieved a creditable 18 top-six overall race finishes in the ultra-competitive 33-race Euro F3 series this season.

"I'm absolutely delighted to be racing with Prema Powerteam for a third consecutive year. I'm certain that Prema will give me the equipment and support for me to launch an attack on the 2016 F3 Euro Series title which is my goal for next season. I joined Prema in my first season of car racing last year and they guided me to the Italian F4 title. This year they've done an awesome job for me in my maiden F3 season. I honestly could not be any happier than continuing to work with René and his team again next year and I know we will be ultra-competitive."
René Rosin – Team Manager, Prema Powerteam
"It is an honour to have Lance with us again for the 2016 FIA F3 European Championship. He did a superb job in his maiden [F3] season, cruising to multiple podium finishes and a phenomenal overall win en-route to a stunning fifth place in the final 2015 standings. Making his debut in such a demanding series, he was the class of the 'Rookie' field and also fought with much more experienced rivals, proving he is ready for the next step. I am sure he has all what it takes to deliver more brilliant results and fight for the outright F3 'crown' next season."
