Eric Yorke Posts Top-Five Finish at Sunset Speedway‏

@Sunset_Speedway • INNISFIL, Ontario (July 22, 2015)- All of the hard work is starting to pay off for DY Racing's Eric Yorke as he would have a solid run this weekend, posting a top-five finish in the 25-lap feature on Sunday.

Yorke started off the weekend on a solid note, finishing third in his heat on Saturday to qualify for the 25-lap feature. He then had a solid run going in the fast qualifiers dash later that evening, but had to pull off at lap five as a result of a problem.

Come feature time, he would start in the second spot, remaining second all the way till the first caution at the halfway mark. Under caution, he would be given the mechanical black flag for leaking fuel. Yorke would make his way down pit road to the attention of the team, receiving repairs before heading back out to the track.

Restarting at the back of the field, he would make his way up to the 15th spot by two laps to go, escaping a wreck in front of him to move up to 12th. He would then battle hard on the late race restart to cross the finish line in the 10th spot.

Looking for redemption, Yorke returned to the track on Sunday, set for success. He would start off the day really well, winning his qualifying heat race after a great mid-race battle with last year's division champion Brandon McFerran.

Come feature time, Yorke would start the 25-lap affair from the 18th starting spot. He would begin his charge to the front immediately, running seventh as of the second caution at lap 10. He would then move up into fifth on lap 16 with a pass on Miles Tyson, before passing Warren Paxton to move up into fourth with seven laps to go.

He would then battle hard the final four laps, but was unable to improve his position further, finishing the race in the fourth spot. For Yorke, it marks his best finish of the season thus far and his second top-five finish of the year.
